【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoverspoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)pipemadeinSchedule40,80,and120sizesandpressure-ratedforwater(seeAppendixX1).IncludedarecriteriaforclassifyingPVCplasticpipematerialsandPVCplasticpipe,asystemofnomenclatureforPVCplasticpipe,andrequirementsandtestmethodsformaterials,workmanship,dimensions,sustainedpressure,burstpressure,flattening,andextrusionquality.Methodsofmarkingarealsogiven.Theproductscoveredbythisspecificationareintendedforusewiththedistributionofpressurizedliquidsonly,whicharechemicallycompatiblewiththepipingmaterials.Duetoinherenthazardsassociatedwithtestingcomponentsandsystemswithcompressedairorothercompressedgasessomemanufacturersdonotallowpneumatictestingoftheirproducts.Consultwithspecificproduct/componentmanufacturersfortheirspecifictestingprocedurespriortopneumatictesting.Note1Pressurized(compressed)airorothercompressedgasescontainlargeamountsofstoredenergywhichpresentserioussafteyhazardsshouldasystemfailforanyreason.Note2Thisstandardspecifiesdimensional,performanceandtestrequirementsforplumbingandfluidhandlingapplications,butdoesnotaddressventingofcombustiongases.Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthespecification.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.AspecificprecautionarystatementisgiveninNote0.Note4CPVCplasticpipes,Schedules40and80,whichwereformerlyincludedinthisspecification,arenowcoveredbySpecificationF441/F441M.Note5Thesustainedandburstpressuretestrequirements,andthepressureratingsinthe,arecalculatedfromstressvaluesobtainedfromtestsmadeonpipe4in.(100mm)andsmaller.However,testsconductedonpipeaslargeas24-in.(600-mm)diameterhaveshownthesestressvaluestobevalidforlargerdiameterPVCpipe.Note6PVCpipemadetothisspecificationisoftenbelledforuseaslinepipe.Fordetailsofthesolventcementbell,seeSpecificationD2672andfordetailsofbelledelastomericjoints,seeSpecificationsD3139andD3212.
